Free Gift
The free gift is eternal life. This gift is given to anyone who will repent of their sin and place their faith completely in Jesus Christ.
To completely understand our need for this gift we must go back to the beginning, the garden of Eden. In the garden man (Adam and Eve) lived in a state of innocence and perfection. One condition was given and that was to not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Eve was deceived and Adam chose to eat of the fruit thus Adam and Eve sinned. Romans 5:12 says,”…by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” The results of this tragic choice is death. Adam and Eve both died as everyone must. Hebrews 9:27 says, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”
The Bible is very clear that sin brought death into the world both physical and spiritual death. To be spiritually dead is to spend eternity separated from God in the lake of fire. Ephesians 2:1 states “…Dead in trespasses and sins.” This is the way we enter this world and if we leave this world in the same condition we will be separated from God forever.
There is hope and this hope is in the person and work of Jesus Christ! God sent him to be punished in your place and for your sins. ”For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 Just as Adam brought death upon the whole human race so Christ has come to give life. “Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation: even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.”Romans 5:18 The one in whom eternal life is found is Jesus Christ. ”I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth In me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and beliveth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” John 11:25-26 This is a question you must answer for your self.
The free gift of eternal life is available to you if you will but heed the word of God because Christ died for your sins on the cross, was buried and rose again the third day. Repent towards God and put Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13 Turn from your sin and trust Christ today and you will have eternal life!
